I missed it!

So, I saw this on July 2 and was so disappointed that I had missed it! Next year!

My Big Adventure: Day 10

Daaayyy 10: Today started off with us riding a cable car. It was so exciting!! The hills in San Fransisco just made it more fun/scary!
I got to hang out the side! But, this is when my phone decided that I was out of storage and could no longer take pictures. Luckily, I was able to delete some stuff that I had duplicates of and that made more room for the rest of the day.

Next, we got sent to Alcatraz Island:( Just kidding, we went there and toured the island. I'm not THAT bad guys:)
It seemed kind of creepy to me actually. Seeing all the cells where those prisoners stayed and about what those people had done.

When we got back to San Fransisco after our tour, we saw this street performer who was pretending to be a statue (like Rachel Elizabeth Dare).
We also walked by the Argonaut Hotel! When I saw that, I immediately thought of Heroes of Olympus.

Finally, as it was getting dark, we went to Ghirardelli Square.
We bought lots of chocolate but didn't have enough time to eat in the restaurant. Hope you all are having a great summer also!

My Big Adventure: Days 7-9

So, I'm lazy. I haven't been posting daily like at all. But lets get on with it.

Day 7: We didn't do much. We drove to the Apple headquarters in San Jose and took pictures by the sign.
Then, we drove a few miles away and saw the Google headquarters.
Afterwards, we just picked up my grandparents and cousins from the airport in San Fransisco and went to the house of the people who we are staying with for the next few days.

Day 8: We had a loooong day. Our plan was to go to Armstrong Redwoods Nature Reserve and then tour San Fransisco, but we ended up visiting a winery (not drinking any of course), PUC and Elmshaven and then finally getting to the Redwoods around 6 o'clock. The trees there are so huge! There was one that had a big hole in the bottom that five of us stood in.

Day 9: Lots to tell about today. First, we went to the Jelly Belly Factory and took the tour on how they make the beans.
We got to taste test some jelly beans and tried one that tasted exactly like pancakes and maple syrup. Oh, and guess what???? We saw a girl wearing a Camp Half-Blood t-shirt at the factory!!! My sister, cousin, and I got so excited! I bought some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and some Chicolate Frogs.
After Jelly Belly, we drove into San Fransisco and took a bus tour of the city. We saw a lot of different things. Our tour guide/bus driver was kinda weird but we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge,
saw the Transamerica Pyramid,
saw the Painted Ladies,
Ghirardelli Square,
Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, Lombard Street, and lots of other things too. My parents actually drove down Lombard street in our car and it has all these tight turns and is very steep downhill. We stopped and ate at a small restaurant called Quickley but it was extremely slow. There was only one lady working there cooking food and taking orders. The food was really good though. Tomorrow we will see more of San Fransisco on foot probably and are visiting Alcatraz prison. Stay tuned for more exciting travels! (Wow, I sound like a tv salesman) Be back soon (hopefully)!

My Big Adventure: Days 4-6

Sorry a couple days got skipped. I have had nearly zero internet acess because we have been driving through the desert. I couldn't get internet until we reached a hotel and we usually arrived at midnight or later and I was just too tired.

So, day 4 we went to Arches National Park and hiked up to Delicate Arch. If you haven't been there before, let me just say, the view at the top is aca-amazing!
See, isn't that beautiful! But this is not for those afraid of heights. There are steep dropoffs on either side of the arch and to get to the arch at one part to have to walk along a 3 foot wide ledge that drops off a few hundred feet. I stood in the middle of the arch, and it was so windy, I thought I was going to blow right off. Also, the hike up there is not something non-athletic people like myself may want to do. I mean, I just barely made it. But I do have athsma and that kind of slowed me down. The hike there is about 1 1/2 miles and pretty much the whole thing is uphill. I know, I know, you're thinking "That's not too far. Man, you must be really out of shape!" But try doing it in 100 degree weather, with only a few short bushes every hundred feet or so for shade, and like I said before, pretty much the whole hike is uphill. Don't get me wrong, it was totally worth it in the end, but I thought I was going to die on the way up (okay, maybe I was exaggerating).

Day 5, we went to Mesa Verde National Park. If you don't know what that is, it is a national park that has these awesome cliff dwellings built at least 700 years ago by Native Americans. There are multiple "towns" such as the Cliff Palace, Balcony House, and Spruce Tree House. Those are the ones we visited.
This is Cliff Palace. It looks a lot bigger in real life. It is the biggest cliff dwelling on Earth that has ever been discovered. We climbed down from the top to reach this one.
Sorry that some if the pictures are blurry for this one. This is Balcony House. As you can see, I drops straight off into a canyon and there are no rails or anything. We had to climb quite a bit to reach this one and it was kind of scary being able to lean back and fall into a canyon.
We also went to Four Corners after Mesa Verde, but I wasn't able to get any pictures if that:(

On to today, Day 6. We mainly just drove from Arizona into California today. But, I have exciting news! We stopped for lunch at In 'n Out Burger! Okay, maybe to some of you that isn't big news, but I'm from the Midwest and we don't have that were I come from. (Then again, there is no Fazoli's out west.)
It was so busy when we got there! I got a classic burger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. Before our trip, my dad told us we had to stop at In 'n Out Burger at least once. He is from the Midwest too but he used to travel around alot before my siblings and I were born. It was delicious! I don't eat a whole lot of meat myself, but for this I made an exception.

Well, it's late and I gotta get to bed. More traveling tomorrow! This is me, signing off!

My Big Adventure: Day 3

Heeeyyyy guys! Once again it is after midnight, nice procrastinating me! Well today was more driving but I got some nice pics of Colorado scenery.
The first one of the valley is my favorite. Sorry if some are a little blurry, it was really windy and was blowing my camera around. Still not much to report I guess. Well that's all! Bye!

My Big Adventure: Day 2

Okay, okay, I know it's after 1:00 am where I am at the moment. So technically  it is tomorrow? Anyway, today was another exciting day of driving! This was the view from my window most of the day
Exciting isn't it? Btw, I took that photo out my window. Well my sister and I played monopoly for a while and uno. This is probably awfully boring. Sorry guys. Well I hope I have more news tomorrow. Also, sorry I didn't post anything else today. Maybe tomorrow? I'll do it when I'm bored:) Well, bye for now!

Life Updates + I'm Going on a Trip?

Hey everybody! Let me start off by apologizing for never posting anymore. I have been kinda busy. Also, I have a few life announcements!! I graduated! And I recived one of few scholarships!!!!! Whaaaaattt?!?!? If you couldn't tell, I am very happy! I was on the yearbook team for this schoolyear and I am proud to announce our yearbook!
So this was the front cover. I have blurred out names and logos for obvious reasons. The tree is filled with different doodles from the year like a graduation cap, some sayings and slogans including #likeagirl, and a violin. My friend drew it!! She got voted most artistic in our class and I got voted class clown:) I don't really know how I of all people got class clown because I'm a bit more quite except when I'm with my friends but whatever...

Now, on to the trip. My family and I are going on a roadtrip to California!!! Whoop whoop! I've never actually been to California. You know, I just noticed that i use alot of exclamation points... Anyway, I'm going to blog throughout the trip! Starting with today, we drove all day. Well, that was easy wasn't it! I'll probably blog about other stuff too since I'm gonna have so much time in the car. Oh, one more thing, we will be meeting up with my cousins and my grandparents on this trip! Seeing my cousins isn't anything new because we live within five minutes of each other's houses but seeing my gransparents is special because they live overseas.

Well, I hope the rest of y'all (y'all? Since when do I say that?) are having a great summer (HAGS)! This is me signing off!
